Hasti was a prominent Chandravamsa king. His father was Suhotra and mother Suvarna. He was grandson of the great king Bharata,the son of Dusyanta and Sakuntala. Hasti had three sons, Purumidha Ajamidha and Dvimidha. Hastinapura, the capital city of Kuru was built by him. Hasti married Yasodhara, daughter of King Trigarta, and a son called Vikantha was born to them.
