Kamsa made many attempt to identify and kill his probable killer born on earth according to prophesies he had. Kesi was one among them.
The word ’kesi’means lock of hair on the crown of the head.
Kamsa sent an Asura called Kesi to Ambadi to finish Krishna. Kesi approached Krishna in the guise of a horse into whose mouth the latter thrust his hand, which began growing in size as a consequence the Asura vomited blood and expired; Krishna is called Kesava for killing Kesi
