Kabirdas (1440 - 1518 CE ) was one of the Bhakti cult Sage and mystic poet of the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries. His poetries were in simple local dialect. He was a weaver by profession and is believed to be born to Hindu parents but brought up by a Muslim family. He got inspired by the bhakti cult of Ramananda tradition and became a follower of him. He was against ritualism and wrote poetry criticizing vanities in spiritual practice.
