Meaning of the word Ayodhya is unconquerable. Ayodhya is the capital of Kosala kingdom where Dasaratha and Rama reigned as king. The archeological evidence and common belief is that the Ramayana famous city Ayodhya is nothing but a place only 6KM way from the modern city, Faizabad of Utter Pradesh. A mosque that was constructed over an ancient Rama temple by Babur, an afghan tyrant and founder of Mughal empire in this place was demolished by Karsevek in recent years have made the ancient city in thick controversy.

Veda

Ayodhya is the capital of Kosala kingdom where Dasaratha and Rama reigned as king. The city was founded by Manu. Its first ruling king was Ikshvaku of the Suryavamsa and eldest son of Vaivasvata Manu.
